Guilding it up - Guild Wars Forums

Greetings,

Newcomer here. Thought I'd start with a few questions... I'm still very new to the game, maybe clocking in about 20 hours so far, but the thing that still confuses me more than anything is how guilds work?

I know how to make one, how to recruit, so on and so fourth. But where do the battles happen? How do you challenge others?

I'm totally lost in that sense... I've read somewhere that you have to make it far into the game into some of the more high-profile towns and there I'll find what I need, so am I correct in assuming that I'd have to beat a good chunk of the game first or start as a PvP character?

You have to acquire a celestial sigil. You can either buy one from another player, or win a battle in the "Hall of Heroes" (if you dont know what that is now you will later). Then you go to Lions Arch, and buy the coastline there is a Cathan Ferry Captain. Talk to him, and have him take you around to the various guild halls. When you come to one you like, talk to teh Cathan Ambassador at the hall and give him your celestial sigil. This area will now be your guild hall, and you can gather your guildmates there and challenge other teams or fight against a random guild.

Thanks for the info, that explains a lot.

As to where I am right now... I've started over 2 times because I didn't like how weak I felt in the game, that and I made stupid mistakes in pre-sear. But with my latest character, I'm just starting post-sear. Perhaps that explains why I know jack :/

We all know jack... just keep moving forward, and you'll come across everything at the appropriate times.
